Our complete interactive classroom solution includes all the necessary hardware, software, content and training so your staff can use it from the first day after is installed.
This is the complete solution you are looking for :Electronic whiteboard + Projector + Computer + Software + Training + Installation = All included interactive whiteboard system
These are two basic functions that a complete interactive classroom with an Interactive whiteboard installed must have:
Capture conventional (marker) ink to digital ink
There is no need to power ON the projector or sound system
Everything that is written on the whiteboard is captured by the computer, "step by step" respecting the colors used, the strokes, the draft and the number of pages that teachers uses.
The information captured by the electronic whiteboard is then transferred to the proprietary software of the whiteboard and then the students or teachers can see the development of the whole class again
After the class, they can turn on the projector and see everything that was written in to it.
Interactive
It requires that the projector is powered on
The image of the PC is displayed by the projector onto the writing surface of the electronic whiteboard and could be freestyle manipulated by the e-pen with stylus or any other appropriate device souch as a mouse from the computer.
Unique advantages of a Complete Interactive Classroom equipped with an iBoard Electronic whiteboard
Capturing System (scanning)
There are 3 types of technology to capture on the Interactive or Electronic Boards, these are:
Sensitive Membrane Whiteboard:
It works as a PDA screen, its cover its made by components that makes it sensitive to the pressure. This kind of writing surface is unsuitable for a school environment because it is very delicate and any scrape (even caused by long fingernails of the teacher or student) can harm your electronic whiteboard. The cost of repairing this type of surface is almost as expensive as a new unit and requires specialized personnel for repair. This technology only works well in small Electronic Whiteboards. In whiteboards larger than 87-inches diagonal the price of this technology is still very high.
Whiteboard with an ultrasound capture device:
An ultrasound signal is picked up by a sidebar scanner similar to how bats and submarines find their way, surface can be more resistant. The cost of the repair of this equipment depends on whether the surface is porcelain, ceramic on metal or special melanin. It can be used in writing surfaces of any size.
Whiteboard with an Infra Red capture device or scanner:
a triangular infrared signal is placed where an e-pen makes pressure on the whiteboard. The cost of repair of this equipment depends on whether the type of material and parts.
The iBoard electronic whiteboard technology works by combining ultrasonic and infrared capture on a special writing surface to be one of the most accurate technology available in the market today.
The special writing surface is imported from Brazil, it does not produce "ghosts" or "shadows" when the ink is erased from the whiteboard, it is not easily dash and it is child-proof.
The writing surface on an electronic whiteboard must also function as a projection surface, before the iBoard electronic whiteboard was conceived the electronic whiteboard manufacturers around the word always had this dilemma to fulfill its two core functions:
On one hand an Electronic Whiteboard needs to have the whitest and cleanest surface available but on the other hand it needs the surface to be as matte as possible to reflect a sharp picture from a 2100 lumens projector and not create any back reflection which means that someone from the audience sees only "light" reflected on the board and not the computer generated image.
(insert image here)
Any other interactive whiteboard with reflecting light
The only interactive whiteboard available in the market that generates no reflection to the face of the audience thanks to its patented design is the iBoard interactive whiteboard.
Projector
The video projector should be able to generate layers of an image powerful enough to "compete" with the artificial lightning of the classroom and some sunshine rays that come through the windows of the room.
The video projector included on the complete interactive classroom is a BenQ MP515ST* model with 2500 lumens with a lamp life of up to 4000 hours of use. Mounted to the ceiling supported by a special adjustable metal gutters and wiring running thru a Panduit solution.
This "Short Throw" version installs 1.5 metres "closer" than conventional projectors giving us excellent light and video quality as well as less shadows.
The power of the projected light of the projector is enough to work in the classroom without changing the working environment for the students because they need to have artificial lights lightening the room to continue taking notes of what they are working on the electronic whiteboard as well as reading texts of a book or notebook without visual problems.
Size and configuration
Setting
Why nearly all electronic whiteboards are not square or rectangular like any other board? R. - for the same reason as their conventional TV is square and HDTV widescreens are rectangular. Traditionally, any computer generates a 4:3 image in comparision with newer computers that generate an image similar of 16:9 to the new plasma displays and LCD high-definition that are making them look more rectangular.
Size
There are several factors that influence in the price / size of an electronic whiteboard, first it is the cost-per diagonal-inch for the capture area to use (a largest capture area has a higher cost of production) that is why the technology does not allow them to make whiteboards at more accessible prices, second is the cost of transportation in the United States and Canada, any product that measures more than 6 feet (1.85 meters) is considered special freight (more expensive rate), for this reason a good top in size on the electronic whiteboard is 1.8 meters long.
The iBoard electronic whiteboard measure 1.22 meters high by 2.44 meters long, which is the size of any conventional whiteboard. On it you can project images of 4:3 or 16:9, in both cases there is a free space without any projection left in the whiteboard useful for teachers to write notes so they don't have to write on the projection area.
This Short Throw projector make's it easier to project a bigger screen without compromising quality

Functionality and space saving
Quite often, the interactive classrooms have many cables and furniture that are connected to each other, for instance: the projector on the ceiling, the whiteboard on the wall, a computer with small speakers placed on a desk on the corner of the classroom and an average of 8 cables connecting all these equipments between each other. This configuration has many unfavorable points against it, we can start with the space in the classroom because the extra desk is not really needed; moreover, the distance between the projector and the desk is too long and this causes a decrease in the video quality, which would not happen if a shorter cable was used. There is also the risk that any student can accidentally "pull" or trip over with these cables.
On the back of the iBoard electronic whiteboard, there is a cabinet where the computer is installed with its accessories, the surround sound system with subwoofer as well as the CPU cooling system.
The only thing that needs to be installed is the whiteboard "hanged" on the wall and the projector. THE ONLY CABLES THAT ARE USED ARE THOSE THAT CONNECT THE PROJECTOR WITH THE WHITEBOARD AND THE POWER CORD. By having lesser cables, the risk of any student pulling a cable or disconnecting the equipment is much lower.
Computer
Although all the educational software available around the world needs small specifications in the computer. You have to very careful when you choose the computer that you will use because the furbished computers or "white boxes" are not highly recommended for this purpose. The better ones are those from well known brands such as HP, Compaq, Dell or IBM
The interactive classroom that we offer includes an HP or Dell Core Duo computer that runs at 2.20 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM, 160GB in the HDD and original Windows XP or Vista software license
Included programs
An important part of the interactive classroom are the programs included. Many suppliers make the mistake of only including the whiteboard control programs and not the necessary ones to operate the interactive classroom with all the subjects and all grades.
With our Complete Interactive Classroom we include the necessary software to successfully operate the system within your institution. Operating programs (so that the whiteboard can function) Tool software (to operate the whiteboard in the classroom) and content software (so it provides information of contents such as biographies and maps).
Operating System Software
These are the programs that the computer and the whiteboard need to function properly, for instance: a computer without operating system (Windows, Mac or Linux) would be useless.
-Windows XP professional edition, Vista or 7
-Electronic Whiteboard proprietary software
Tools Software
These are the programs that allow you to present or work your lesson in the exact way that you want, for example: when we purchase a computer and we want to write a letter, the program we need for this task is called MS Word (or any other word processor), if we want to make some mathematical operations, the program needed is Excel (spreadsheet) and if we want to make presentations, the required program would be Power Point. Therefore, to operate the electronic whiteboard, if we need to draw some lines, numeric lines, reproduce any material and planning, we need the specialized software for those purposes.
-RM Easiteachnext generation to control the whiteboard and school tools (license for use in the interactive whiteboard and a copy for the teacher)
-Studio software to save the digital ink
-Specific software for each subject, for instance: algebra, geometry, formula interpretation and graphic tools among others.
Content Software
Now, if we want the computer to play back the video of a biography, the map of a specific place in the planet, specific information about a country, statistic data about any topic or general information, we need "content software". These can be obtained in two different ways: they can be installed in the equipment with a CD or anything that needs constant upgrade that is obtained from the Internet.
-Encarta Encyclopedia (Academic license)
-Contents from the links in www.enciclomedia.org
-Demo of contents from several software suppliers
-Publishing houses software with contents for the interactive whiteboard.
-Specific software for each subject matter, for example: math, biology, chemistry, sciences, enviromen and arts for example.
Specific Content Software
These are the programs used specifically for a lesson or area such as sciences, math, algebra, geometry, chemistry, physics, etc; and it can only be used during such lesson to demonstrate to the students of such lesson different examples, rules, resources among other things.
-WorkingModel for Physics
-Geometers Sketchpad for Geometry
-ScienceWorks for Biology and Chemistry
-Microsoft Math for Mathematics
Sound system
To make the most out of the interactive/multimedia experience of an interactive classroom, we must have good audio. In a classroom of regular size (of between 25 to 35 students) it is necessary a sound system to reproduce the audio with clarity and strength for a classroom with that many people inside, while it competes against the schoolyard and other classrooms' noise.
The iBoard electronic whiteboard has built-in its own sound system of 2.1 channels with subwoofer and 2 powerful 4 watt speakers on the sides, which causes the sound to be surrounded by the walls in a regular classroom; therefore, the students located in the last row can hear in similar decibels as those sitting in the first row.
For bigger classrooms, you can connect another set of rear speaker, thus creating an optional 5.1 channel system.
Sound reflection
If we consider the fact that the solid walls of the classrooms, with their 90° angles, work as sound reflectors, the side speakers of the iBoard electronic whiteboard will create a surround sound that will be better for the audience located in the back rows, instead of the audio created of regular speakers placed at the front.
Extra accessories that only our Complete Interactive Classroom includes for the same price:
Wireless mouse with integrated gyroscope
There are 3 different technologies available in this type of devices
RF (radio frequency) which can work in two bands, of 900 Mhz or 2.4 Ghz, connected to the USB port or to the PS/2. The reach covers the entire classroom.
Infrared (IR) Just like the remote controls of the TV sets at home, their reach covers the entire classroom and they must have a clear path with the receiving equipment so it can work properly; it is connected to the serial port or to the PS/2. The disadvantage for some equipments: that the batteries die quickly due to the lack of a "sleep" system.
Bluetooth: This is newer technology of short reach that works as coded RF; it can be connected to the USB port or through the equipment's Bluetooth.
To fully control the whiteboard from certain distances without having to be close to it, from anywhere in a 10meter radius, it can be done with RF technology.
Our mouse can work on the air as a videogame control or as a regular desktop mouse thanks to its built in gyroscope. The mouse has a hibernation system that helps the batteries (2 - AAA) to last longer in case that the Mouse option is not used for periods of more than 5 minutes.
Wireless Tablet
This is a Bluetooth wireless tablet which the teacher can use to manipúlate the electronic whiteboard from a dinstance using a pen so he can write with his oun handwrite directly to the whiteboard any where in the classroom. This wireless tablet is also a standard accessory included.
Wireless keyboard
The most common wireless keyboard is the one that uses a radio frequency (RF) in the 400, 900 or 2400 Mhz, and they have such power that they can interfere with the other classroom
The equipment includes an assisted keyboard system that is displayed on the iBoard electronic whiteboard, but moreover, it includes a wireless keyboard in Spanish that can be used from the teacher or from a student's desk. Its RF reach is limited to a 4 meter radius, thus avoiding any interference with other interactive classrooms in adjoining classrooms.
Economy
If any other electronic whiteboard with sensitive membrane gets scratched with the teacher's fingernails, with a bump from the eraser or from a student's backpack, you have to consider that this part retails for $300 US dollars, plus the work of a technician specialized in the brand and the calibration.
The maintenance and repair of the iBoard electronic whiteboard included in the complete interactive classroom is quite affordable, for example: in case that the equipment gets scratched, which is very hard, the substitution of the writing surface would cost you $50 US dollars and it is not necessary to hire someone specialized in this products, any person with basic knowledge in engineering and the will to work can do it.
Warranty
Many suppliers offer up to 5 years warranty; nevertheless, you should remember that it is not an insurance against damages. If you scratch the whiteboard and a membrane needs to be substituted, the warranty will not cover this. Many schools have fallen into this 5 year warranty gimmick, while thinking that the equipment supplier is guaranteeing that the interactive classroom will be working for 5 years. However, after a short period of time, the membrane gets scratched due to regular use (for instance a teacher with long fingernails) and the product supplier does not validate the warranty by using the argument that such problems are not covered by it.
Our product offers a three year warranty.
Service
Other electronic whiteboard brands and other companies that provide Complete Interactive Classrooms offer repair warranties. On the other hand, we offer a warranty for a complete change or for any parts that have to be replaced; this guarantees you that the interactive classroom will be out of service only for a short period of time.
